Cougars End Season on High
Note with Win over Tahoe

The boys played an awesome final game of the season against the Tahoe Grizzlies.  The last time these teams met they tied in the Santa Rosa Wine Tournament in February.  The first score of the game came when Garan scored with an assist by Brendan (Killer), capitalizing on a power play.  Tahoe came back shortly after and scored.  The first period ended 1-1.  In the second period, Tyler set up a goal by Joey to bring the Cougars ahead.  Garan scored once again on a power play later in the period.  The Cougars scored one more time with Alex driving around one of the Tahoe defensemen and scoring with a shot over the goalie's shoulder, to end the period 4-1.  Joey brought the puck in one more time with an assist by Garan to score in the third period, to top off the victory 5-1.  Mario and Thomas also worked hard on offense.  Kern was back from his thumb injury to play this final game and along with Dustin and Alex, kept a strong defense in tonight's game.  Conner was out sick and Esau had another committment.  The goalies both played well tonight, Jacob taking 8 shots on goal with one score and David shutting out Tahoe with 14 shots on goal.  Jacob used his head tonight, as one of the shots bounced off his helmet.

Thanks go to the coaches, the players, and the parents of the Cougars Squirts for a great, hard-working, fun, and inspirational season.  Happy St. Patrick's Day.
