| Tryouts for 2010/11 California Cougars Teams |
Tier Program
Tryouts for the Tier Program are complete.
Three teams are being formed: one Midget 18AA Team and two Pee Wee AA Teams.
Information on each team, such as a roster, practice times, schedules, etc.
will be posted on each team's pages as soon as the information becomes available.
Travel Program
A & B Tryouts will be held from Friday August 6th - Saturday August 14th.
Tryout dates and locations for each division are posted below
(please scroll down to the bottom of this page).

All forms are complete and final, as are the Tryout dates and locations.
The Cougars are conducting Tryouts for all divisions, as follows:

The cost is $40 for the Mites and $100 for all other divisions.
2002 birth year players trying out for both the Mite and Squirt teams need
only pay the Squirt fee of $100.
For all divisions besides the Mites, the following five forms need to be filled out and submitted prior to the first Tryout session.

All completed forms, along with the full Tryout fee of $100, need to be turned in
to be able to participate in the Tryouts. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The Mites' paperwork includes the above
Waiver and Release Form, the two USA Hockey Forms, and the
following Mites Tryout Registration Form and Mites

A note that none of the information from these forms is used
in the team selection process. They will only be referred to
in the case of emergency.
Any player not on an 09-10 Cougar travel team needs
to submit a copy of his or her birth certificate
prior to the first Tryout session.
All players must also be registered with USA Hockey
for the 2010 - 2011 season, and need to submit
proof of membership prior to the first Tryout session.

Important note concerning early registration
Though pre-registration is not required (players can arrive at their respective Tryout sessions with
the required paperwork), it is strongly recommended, for the purpose of saving time (eliminating the
need to stand in line to register), to pre-register.
Pre-registration can be done by mailing the forms (checks made out to ICE COUGARS) by August 1st to:

The Tryout fee of $100 ($40 for the Mites) covers the opportunity to try out for the Cougars, and
is nonrefundable regardless of how many tryout sessions a player attends.
Midget 16A players will try out with the Midget 18A players, and Midget 16A-eligible
players may be selected for the Midget 18A team.
All players are being asked to arrive at least 60 minutes before the
first Tryout session, and are encouraged to make as many tryout sessions
as possible.
If any sessions need to be missed, please notify the personnel at the
registration desk or contact Chris Hathaway at 650-574-1616.
Attendance at a minimum of one Tryout session is mandatory to be selected
for a team.
Each player is requested to bring both a dark (black or blue) and a light
(white or yellow) jersey to each Tryout session. No NORCAL team
jerseys will be allowed (no exceptions).
Tryouts will be held at the Ice Center of Cupertino (Vallco) and
Ice Center of San Mateo (Bridgepointe), as indicated
in the below Tryout Dates. Please make sure to arrive at the
correct rink location.
NOTE: Just a reminder that players trying out cannot owe the Cougars, or any other NORCAL
club, any outstanding dues from any previous seasons. The information is provided from NORCAL
to all clubs and players need to be in good standing prior to being allowed to try out.

* An informational meeting concerning Norcal Mite changes and the
Cougars
Mite plan is scheduled for Tuesday,
July 13th, 6:00 PM, in Bridgepointe,
and Tuesday, July 27th, 6:00 PM, in Vallco.
All interested Mite parents should attend one
of these meetings.
** For all divisions, "A" teams may be
posted following the third tryout session.
*** The final tryout session may be used to
fill any potential open spots.
