| Tryouts for 2011/12 California Cougars Tier Teams |
Tier Program
The Cougars held AA Tryouts July 16-19 for the Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget 16 divisions.
The AA Teams are in the process of being formed. Information about the teams will be
posted as soon as it becomes available.
The Head Coaches for the 2011-12 season are Aaron Mullagh (Pee Wee AA), Mario Morrissette (Bantam AA)
and Zac Lytle (Midget 16AA).
The cost is $75 if payment is received by July 9th. Payments received after July 9th or at the door
will be $100.

In addition, all players must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2011-12 season
(a pointer to USA Hockey registraton is provided below), and a 2011-12 USA Confirmation number
is required along with the Tryout forms.
New players to the Cougars organization must also send in a copy of the Birth Certificate with
the registration forms. Birth certificates for returning Cougars are *not* required.

same time slots in San Mateo provided on Saturday, July 16, for any
age group who may have additional roster spots.

MIDGETS: Unfortunately, with the number of returning eligible Cougar Midget 18 players heading
off to college or playing junior hockey out of the area, we do not have the ability to form an
18U team this season.
If we have enough interest we may be able to field a high school team to play in the Fall
high school league. If you will be enrolled in high school this fall on or near the
Peninsula and are interested please e-mail Chris:

Tryout information, dates and locations for the Cougars A/B Travel Teams and the Cougars
Mite Travel Team are posted below.
All forms are complete and final, as are the Tryout dates and locations.
The cost is $75 for the Mites if payment is received by July 22nd.

All completed forms, along with the full Tryout fee, need to be turned in
to be able to participate in the Tryouts. NO EXCEPTIONS.
A note that none of the information from these forms is used in the team selection
process. They will only be referred to in case of an emergency.
Any player not on a 2010-11 Cougar travel team needs to submit a copy of his or her birth certificate
prior to the first Tryout session.
All players must also be registered with USA Hockey for the 2011-12 season, and need to submit
proof of membership prior to the first Tryout session. USA Hockey Registration can be done online
by clicking on the image on the right.
The Tryout fee covers the opportunity to try out for the Cougars, and
is nonrefundable regardless of how many tryout sessions a player attends.
All players are being asked to arrive at least 60 minutes before the first
Tryout session, and are encouraged to make as many tryout sessions as possbile.
Attendance at a minimum of one Tryout session is mandatory to be selected for a team.
If any sessions need to be missed, please notify the personnel at the registration
desk or contact Chris Hathaway at 650-574-1616.
Each player is requested to bring both a dark (black or blue) and a light
(white or yellow) jersey to each Tryout session. No NORCAL team
jerseys will be allowed (no exceptions).
Tryouts will be held at the Ice Center of Cupertino (Vallco) and Ice Center of San Mateo (Bridgepointe),
as indicated in the below Tryout Dates. Please make sure to arrive at the correct rink.
NOTE: Just a reminder that players trying out cannot owe the Cougars, or any other NORCAL
club, any outstanding dues from any previous seasons. The information is provided from NORCAL
to all clubs and players need to be in good standing prior to being allowed to try out.
