Cougars End Season
The Cougars ended their season in the NORCAL playoffs in Vacaville. In their
first game, the Cougars were shutout 8-0 by the eventual champion Capital Thunder.
The score does not tell the whole story of the penalty-filled game.
Overnight the Cougars regrouped and lost a hard fought 3-2 decision to the San Jose
Jr. Sharks on an empty-net goal after pulling their goalie while shorthanded in the
last minute in a desperate effort to score a winning goal and keep themselves
with a chance to play in the final.
The Cougars final game against the Santa Clara Blackhawks was also very competitive
as the Cougars came back from a 4-1 deficit in the third period with two goals but
despite pressuring the Blackhawks. The final score ended up 5-3 in favor of
Santa Clara.
Many thanks to all of the players, coaches and parents for a most exciting and
enjoyable season!
