Cougars Finish Busy Weekend, Topping San Jose Girls 10-U 6-3
November 9, 2008
One day after the exciting victory over the Blue Devils, the Cougars come out on top again with win over San Jose Girls 10-U 6-3 to improve the season record to 3-1.
Either because of the mental letdown after yesterday's game, or still physically recovering from the fatigue, or a combination of both, the Cougars came out flat. The winless girls put together a relentless fight and keep the game scoreless well into the first period until Edmund scored off a nice pass from Aseem. The girls kept coming at the Cougars and tied the game soon after. Christian made several nice saves, and the defensive unit of Adriel, Kevin, Nicholas and Jack all made key plays to prevent the girls to take the lead. The game remained tied until Bella took a nice pass from Justin and skated into the zone to beat the goalie. Edmund was able to add another goal with a breakaway but the girls kept it a tight game till the 3rd period when the Cougars finally took control of the game. Aseem scored the final 3 goals, including one shorthanded, to make the final score 6-3.
