Cougars 5, Bears 8

November 2, 2008

Cougars lost to the Oakland Bears 8-5 in a toughly fought game in Oakland.

There might be many reasons behind the loss but lack of offense and courage was not among them. Kevin was absent so Christian dressed up in goal with only 9 skaters. The Cougars kept pressuring through out the game, and skated stride to stride with a Oakland roster with 3 full lines till the final buzzer. Majority of the game was play in the Bears' zone. Aseem again played a dominate game and score 4 goals, but it didn't mean the lack of chances from other forwards. Joshua scored with a nice shot from the slot after taking a centering pass from Rahul. Bella, Justin and Edmund all had multiple good chances but unfortunately couldn't cash in. All 3 defenders played very hard. Jack and Adriel again played solid and stopped Bears' attack from time to time. Nicholas played a tremendous game and flew all over the ice nonstop like the Energizer bunny.

The Cougars won the first period 2-1 and tied the 3rd period 3-3, but the deficit of 4-0 in the second period was proven to be costly. Most of the Bears goals were results of odd man rushes or breakaways when the Cougars pressured aggressively and turned the puck over. Christian did his best to stop as many as them as he could. The Cougars will learn from the mistakes and work hard to correct them in the future games.
