This was a redemption game. The Cougars started well and played an entertaining nail-biter. There were strong performances all around and some very heavy hitting. LAHC did not give an inch, though, and they fought back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the score at 3 late in Period 2. LAHC scored the go-ahead goal and eventual game winner with a little more than 6 minutes remaining. The Cougars applied strong pressure until the end, with several near misses and a puck sliding just outside the goal post in the waning seconds. LAHC held on for the victory, but most observers were pleased with the Cougars' effort, especially after the morning let-down.
