For their third game of CAHA Weekend #2 - all within 24 hours - the Cougars 99AA team was decimated with injury and illness. Three injuries, one case of the flu and one case of strep throat left the Cougars with only nine skaters against the San Jose Junior Sharks 98AA squad...and for the first ten minutes, things looked great. The Cougars had their best offensive display in weeks, even without scoring a goal. The Cougars dictated play and moved the puck well, with several good scoring chances. The Sharks scored late in the first period, taking a 1-0 lead into intermission.
The tide turned in the second period, but good play all around kept the score at a reasonable 3-0 after two. The depleted roster came back to haunt the Cougars in the third period, and the Jr. Sharks finished as 7-0 victors just a week after the teams played a 2-1 game in San mateo.
