Lost a Heartbreaker

We really needed this one, and it slipped away from us.

Cougars scored first. Zefan Hurley rushed it down ice, made a pretty pass to Kevin Kiaski, and Kevin put it in. The excitement on the bench matched the enthusiasm in the stands.

But San Jose came back to tie it up halfway thru the second period. And then they were also able to add two more 33 seconds apart in the third, which seemed to poke a hole in our sails.

With the clock ticking... Brett DeLorenzi was able to find Zefan Hurley, and Zefan found the back of the net, keeping us in the running.

Unfortunately we just couldn't find a way to tie it up before the buzzer.

Final score, Cougars Lose 3-2.
