Our third and final game in this tournament was played early Sunday morning against
the Long Beach Jr. Ice Dogs. The game started well. Garan scored our
first goal three minutes to the game. Despite the strong efforts in our defense,
the Dogs managed to break through and score three goals during the last two
minutes of this period. The Dogs had a very well planned offensive tactic
that was hard for us to nail. The score was 1 - 3 in their favor.
Early the second period the Dogs scored their fourth goal, but we quickly
responded by scoring our second goal (Garan from Will and
Sebastian) and just 40 seconds later our third goal (Garan from
Justin and Sebastian). The score was now 3 - 4 in their favor.
Unfortunately the Dogs
managed to increase the goal difference by three goals before we scored again.
Our fourth goal was scored by Garan and our fifth one by Kaz from an
assist by Tyler. Garan got a tripping penalty and the Dogs
scored from power
play their eight goal.
In the third period we scored our sixth goal (who scored this one?) and Vanny
sat a 2 minutes penalty before he scored our seventh goal.
This was a great game and according to the coaches the best game we played. The
players of the game are Garan (he earned a hat trick), Joseph
and Will. There were so many great performances in this game that it is hard
to keep track of them. Dustin skated fast, hustled hard and was making great
moves. Joseph's stickhandling has improved a lot and he takes easily the puck
away from the opponent. Tyler has been playing great in defense in our last
games.
(Please note that I've not seen the scoresheets of the tournament games, so some
of the assist are missing. If I get the scoresheets, I will make updates later.)
