Cougars Narrowly Miss Playoffs - Game 2
March 20, 2005
The Cougars had a full weekend of hockey facing Tri-Valley on Saturday and San Jose on Sunday.
They were pursuing a much-needed win to assure them a spot in the NORCAL playoffs. It would
all come down to the wire.
The Cougars met up with the Sharks in San Jose with one opportunity left to secure their shot at the
playoffs. The Sharks were the first to score to take an early lead. Anthony Arbulu
with assistance from Patrick Gillis and Chris Benoit tied the score 1-1.
Defense played a key role as both squads struggled to get their offense in full gear. Bryce
Balbon, TJ Sullivan and Kavian Kavianpour were defensive standouts for the Cougars.
The Sharks would eventually score their second goal which would turn out to be the game's last.
Sharks win 2-1.
