Successful Kick-Off To Regular Season

The regular season opened at Vallco against the Stockton Colts with an impressive 8‑1 Cougar victory. The Cougars were lead by a great game from Greg Schuck, who recorded a hat trick along with two assists for a 5-point game! Jonathan Wilson was solid in goal, turning away 8 of the 9 shots Stockton could muster against a staunch defense.

The defense was a true team effort as a total of 8 penalties lead to seemingly never-ending Stockton power plays and frustrated the Colts to the point they played their 'hooligan' line for the last 5 minutes, trying to injury the Cougars once they knew they couldn't score. Nick Lavarias took exception to this style of play and joined a Stockton coach, a parent and several players by being given a game misconduct penalty (resulting in a two-game suspension).
